Diets For Weight Loss And Good Health
More and more, people now turn to their “Diet” not only to lose weight but also to cure or alleviate other “Health Issues”.
Remember “What We Eat” affects our “Weight Loss Issues” and most of our “Health Issues” more than anything excepting environment, which is another matter!
To Start Off
Might You Agree With The Following Statements?
1/ Most "faddy diets" Do Not Work Long Term!
2/ You Are What You Eat!
3/ Where The Mind Goes The Body Will Follow!

Is Every Ache and Pain a Symptom?

Is Every Ache and Pain a Symptom?
Someone recently wrote and asked me, "Is every discomfort, ache, irritation, bruise, and distraction a symptom? For instance, I will often attend to a painful hip only to have my wife point out that I should explore the other one, as that is likely where the wound is. It seems, attending to symptoms is like have an itchy nose and licking your lips to stop the itch. This never quite gets it."
So is every discomfort, irritation, bruise, painful feeling, and distraction a symptom? Yes. However, in order to understand what this means, you need to know the fractal for symptoms. In other words, what is the "recognizable visual pattern of relationships" we call a "symptom?"
Symptoms are what happen to us when our visual access to a need gets blocked. In other words, "blocked needs cause symptoms." Why? Because you cannot chose to attend to what you cannot visually see. At least, not consciously. Thus, even when we manage to avoid our symptoms (such as when we medically reduce them to invisibility), we more miss the bullet by sheer luck than become bullet proof. In other words, the war has not ended. And we are still being shot at. We have simply survived another near miss and may take a bullet at any moment.

Safe Weight Loss Programs

Safe Weight Loss Programs
Almost any of the commercial weight-loss programs can work, but only if they motivate you sufficiently to decrease the amount of calories you eat or increase the amount of calories you burn each day (or both). What elements of a weight-loss program should a consumer look for in judging its potential for safe and successful weight loss? A responsible and safe weight-loss program should be able to document for you the five following features: The diet should be safe. It should include all of the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for vitamins, minerals, and protein. The weight-loss diet should be low in calories (energy) only, not in essential foodstuffs.
The weight-loss program should be directed toward a slow, steady weight loss unless your doctor feels your health condition would benefit from more rapid weight loss. Expect to lose only about a pound a week after the first week or two. With many calorie-restricted diets there is an initial rapid weight loss during the first 1 to 2 weeks, but this loss is largely fluid. The initial rapid loss of fluid also is regained rapidly when you return to a normal calorie diet. Thus, a reasonable weight loss goal must be expected.

Myth Busters...
By: Sue Bektas

Perhaps the biggest misconceptions of them all when it comes to weight-loss; "I can't help that I am overweight because I have big bones". Yes, I have heard it before. It is only an excuse not a reason. We do come in different body shapes, some are small framed and others are a larger frame and we can vary with our weight range. But big bones or small makes no difference when it comes to weight-loss. There is a normal range for every body type. In my experience people use this excuse to let them off the hook to change their life style. If they only took small little steps to improve their life style and improve their intake of nutrition, they will soon see the benefits for themselves. By thinking that they are big boned will stop them from achieving good health and wellbeing.
"If I stop eating and take supplements, I will lose weight". The body needs a certain amount of calories to function. Not getting enough results in a sluggish metabolism. A healthy diet is essential to your wellbeing. Supplements can be used in conjunction with a healthy diet. However, diet alone will not help you shed those difficult kilos. An active lifestyle is also necessary, not only for weight-loss but also weight-maintained. It is all about finding a balance. Supplements are only used to enhance your nutrition intake.
